The groundbreaking ceremony for the Yan Wen-Long International Conference Center, named in honor of Dr. Yan Wen-Long, took place on April 17, 2004, in the presence of numerous dignitaries. Attendees included Chairman Guo Shih-Ji, President Shih Kuo-Kung, various board members, and executives of the university. This ceremony aimed to seek blessings for the safe commencement of the construction of the Yan Wen-Long International Conference Center at National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology.

The venue for the groundbreaking ceremony was adorned with Lemon Eucalyptus trees, each with a robust, white trunk, lining up neatly on both sides of the road. Their majestic presence created a sense of grandeur as the two rows of tall trees converged in the distance, making for an impressive sight.
